About the Authors :MARY ELLEN and ANDREW "GENE" MILLS are breeders of the internationally respected Drewlaine Bichons Frises. They've been involved with the breed since buying their first Bichon, Nelly, in 1973. Fortuitously, Nelly quickly earned her championship and capped her show career with a Best of Opposite Sex win at the Bichon Frise Club of America's first national specialty in 1976. The Drewlaine kennels have since produced over 30 champion Bichons. The Mills are extensively involved in dog welfare activities locally and internationally; Gene is an AKC judge, the delegate for the Del Sur Kennel Club, and the Educational Chairman for the BFCA.
