About the Author : Alice WhartonCollies have been a part of ALICE WHARTON's life since early childhood. Her first show Collie was the son of one of the breed's most influential sires, Ch. Alstead Eden Emerald, and he was followed by a number of notable Country Lane Collies. Alice and Buck Wharton's breeding program was always conducted on a very small scale, still ten champions carried the Wharton's Country Lane prefix and for the most part were owner-handled to their championship.
Alice has been extremely active in every facet of Collie education and protection on both local and national levels. She has served in numerous positions in the Collie Club of America and her expert advice has been employed in the formation of the breed standard. She is also licensed by the AKC to judge breeds in the Working and Herding Group.
